Whether you are recovering from an injury, want to improve your performance in the sports and activities you love, or simply looking to lay the foundations for a healthy future, efficient movement is crucial.

You may have started to notice some changes in the way you perform daily activities such as walking, running, getting in and out of the car, for example, or an increase in aches and pains when doing the sports or hobbies you love.

At the Link Studio in midtown Toronto, we’ll examine your specific movement habits and the improper compensatory strategies you’ve developed over the years that may be causing unhealthy movement or causing you pain.

Building on a scientific base of Biomechanics and Functional Anatomy, we get creative in developing a program to improve mobility, stability, strength, balance and coordination.

Your path to optimal movement

The LINK four-step process

  1. Assessment: We'll evaluate your current movement patterns, and identify weaknesses and compensatory patterns to establish a baseline.
  2. Personalization: We’ll relate the test findings to your specific needs and activities, including mobility, range of motion, balance, body alignment, weight transference, rotation, and coordination.
  3. Program Design: We'll create a plan and design a program to activate the correct muscle groups in proper sequencing for stability and mobility.
  4. Progressive Training: We’ll teach you to gradually increase complexity, coordination, and load to meet the demands of your activity or sport.

Matt Nichol

Strength & Conditioning Coach

I came to LINK to seek help in relieving my serious chronic back pain. Pamela has a very client‑oriented attitude and listens carefully to my concerns. She quickly grasped my issues and guided me in the proper exercises. I am now more confident in my daily chores as I have developed a much stronger core and flexibility in the desired muscles.

LINK’s training continuum: Our philosophy and our roadmap

Each step in the diagram represents a foundational goal the client must achieve before advancing to the next level.

Mobility
Stability
Endurance
Strength
Power
Sport Performance

Proper mobility and adequate stability are necessary for the joints to move in the correct axis of rotation.

Endurance is required to hold the joints and body in the proper positions regardless of the tasks imposed. Only then can strength, power, and sports performance be trained effectively!

Adding strength, power, and sports performance to an unstable base will only diminish performance or injury.
